Sleeping Nature

perennial work - painting on wood and corrugated iron

Commissioned by the social landlord Action Logement in the context of a call for projects. Nature Endormie was chosen as the work to permanently cover a chalet in a social residence in Torcy (77).

This open-air forest, whose walls and roof have been painted by hand, is an anecdote to our mother house.

A large plant native to Africa, the Sansevieria Trifasciata (Sword of St. George) is painted on all four walls of the hut. In South American culture, this plant is placed in front of the entrance of houses and businesses to purge bad energy, like an amulet of good vibes that gives strength to everyday life. On the roof is a Calathea, a dancing plant from tropical America.

Plants that, like a large part of the world's population, migrate, adapt and produce new roots in order to strengthen themselves.
