En 2020 durant les périodes de confinement imposées par la pandémie, j’ai crée une série d’objets surréalistes, des horloges en cordes intitulée avec ironie Meu > Inimigo (à traduire par «Mon plus grand ennemi»). Avec ces horloges patiemment imaginées durant de longs mois, j’ai tissé des rapprochements symboliques et abstraits entre différents champs de réflexion : l’asservissement de l’homme au temps, l’esclavage subi historiquement par certains êtres humains «racisés» et l’exploitation abusive de la nature. L’inversion du sens de rotation des aiguilles confère à ces horloges un caractère surréaliste pour souligner l’absurdité humaine.

Elle revêt également la signification d’une résistance et d’une transformation possibles, à rebours des prédictions sur la fin de notre civilisation. Pilier du Temps est une fresque monumentale qui extériorise de cet objet du sein de la galerie vers l’espace publique.

En plus de l'horloge, d’autres symboles comme le coucher de soleil, la tresse et les motifs Massaï font sens d’un point de vue politique et régional dans la ville de Montreuil. Les cordes ici tissent le temps de l’horloge de la fin du monde qui, en descendant en spirale sur une colonne d'environ 30 mètres retombe sur la nature.

Ce projet a été Lauréat du Concours Révèle ton Talent 2021 de Crédit Agricole X CliqueTV, et sera réalisé le printemps 2022.

In 2020 during the periods of confinement imposed by the pandemic, I created a series of surreal objects, rope clocks ironically titled Meu > Inimigo (to be translated as “My greatest enemy”). With these clocks patiently imagined over long months, I have woven symbolic and abstract connections between different fields of reflection: the enslavement of man to time, the slavery historically suffered by certain "racialized" human beings, and the misuse of nature. The inversion of the direction of rotation of the needles gives these clocks a surreal character to underline human absurdity.

It also takes on the significance of possible resistance and transformation, contrary to the predictions about the end of our civilization. Pillar of Time is a monumental fresco that exteriorizes this object from within the gallery to the public space.

In addition to the clock, other symbols such as the sunset, the braid, and the Maasai motifs make sense from a political and regional point of view in the city of Montreuil. The strings here weave the time of the doomsday clock which, descending in a spiral on a column of about 30 meters falls back on nature.

This project was the winner of Crédit Agricole X CliqueTV's Revel your Talent 2021, and will be completed in the spring of 2022.
